ADDITIONAL MEDICARE REBATES
The 2020 Federal Budget announced funding for an additional 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year until 30 June 2022 under the Better Access initiative. This means you can now claim up to 20 Medicare rebates towards your psychological treatment under a Mental health Care Plan per calendar year. Contact us for further information.

We are located 10 minutes from the city along North East road. Our consulting rooms are modern, warm and inviting. There is ample free off-street parking. We are also easily accessed by public transport.

Medicare rebates are available for psychological services upon referral by a general practitioner, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician who has completed a Mental Health Care Plan. Under this scheme you are eligible to receive rebates for up to 20 therapy sessions per calendar year. Treatment is also available via telehealth (video or telephone).
Medicare rebates are available to assist women who have any personal concerns related to a current or recent pregnancy (within the past 12 months), whether it has been full-term or part-term (including a planned termination). Under this scheme you are eligible to receive rebates for up to three sessions per pregnancy.
The NDIS provides individualised support for people with disability, their families and carers. Taylored Psychology can assist Plan-Managed or Self-Managed participants; however, we are not an NDIS registered provider so cannot assist NDIA-Managed participants.
Taylored Psychology accepts referrals for entitled persons holding a White Card or Gold Card with a valid referral. Psychologists at Taylored Psychology also act as Outreach Workers for Open Arms (formerly Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service). There is no annual limit on the number of services that can be provided in a calendar year. The type, frequency and duration of services required to meet the clinical need of the entitled person is determined by the allied mental health care provider. All consulting fees are invoiced directly to DVA.
Dr Melissa Taylor and Julie Rawsthorne are Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisors and between them can provide supervision for endorsement with AHPRA in the areas of either clinical psychology or forensic psychology. Supervision can also be provided to meet the supervised practice requirements for membership of either the Clinical or Forensic Colleges of the Australian Psychological Society.
Taylored Psychologist is a registered service provider with the LSA and is able to deliver psychological supports to participants in the scheme. The LSA provides treatment, care and support for people who have sustained serious, lifelong disabilities in a motor vehicle accident in South Australia regardless of fault. The scheme applies to people injured from 1 July, 2014 who receive injuries that cause paraplegia or quadriplegia, brain injury, whole limb or multiple amputations, major burns or blindness. An injured person, someone acting on their behalf, or their insurer can make an application to the LSA.
People who have sustained an injury following a transport accident may be eligible for psychological treatment under South Australia’s CTP Insurance scheme. Your doctor will need to assess your eligibility and provide a written referral.
Taylored Psychology can offer treatments in a range of different languages. We currently have psychologists who provide therapy in Polish. We are also happy to work with the assistance of interpreters.
People who have a work-related injury or illness may be eligible for psychological treatment under RTWSA. Your doctor will need to assess your eligibility and provide a written referral to Taylored Psychology. All of our psychologists are registered to provide treatment to RTWSA claimants.
At Taylored Psychology we provide a flexible and client-centred psychological service that draws on the training and experience of our clinical psychologists in a variety of therapeutic approaches.
Please note that TP is not a bulk billing practice and services provided under Medicare incur gap fees.
Dr Taylor is the founding director of Taylored Psychology, which was established in 2011. Dr Taylor has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and a Doctoral Degree in Forensic Psychology (as well as an Economics Degree). She is registered to practice psychology under the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Society's Colleges of Clinical Psychologists and Forensic Psychologists. Dr Taylor has 18 years' experience as a psychologist. She has worked for the Criminal Justice Systems in both South Australia and New South Wales. She has operated private practices in both South Australia and Queensland. She has also provided clinical supervision to students at Bond University, the University of South Australia, and The University of New England. She has previously acted as an Approved Panel Member (health, and performance and professional standards panels) for AHPRA; as a member of the Northern Clinical Council for the Adelaide Primary Health Network, and as a member of the APS’s Private Practice Reference Group.
Dr Taylor is experienced in treating a range of psychological presentations, and utilises multiple therapies individualised to suit patient need. Dr Taylor is currently not available for patient consultations, and is instead focusing her time and efforts on Practice Management, utilising her economics training and past business experiences to ensure the highest quality service is available to those needing psychological treatment.
Magdalena completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Australia, and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Magdalena is registered to practice psychology under the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a registered Medicare provider. Magdalena has experience in a variety of health settings including hospitals, private practice and vocational rehabilitation services.
She has experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, personality disorders, stress, grief and loss, as well as pregnancy related concerns.
Magdalena incorporates Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in management and treatment. She speaks fluent Polish, and enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and ages including children, adolescents, adults and older adults.
Penelope has built her professional foundation from training as a Clinical Psychologist and an Executive Coach. She has over 30 years experience assisting people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Penelope helps clients with personal, relationship, family, health and work-related issues. She specialises in creating new ways to improve daily life and sharing them with her clients. By learning psychological skills to manage thoughts and emotions, Penelope believes you can increase your vitality and become more positive and clearer about the heart of your desires.

Penelope's professional knowledge and experience has included working in Adelaide and Sydney in Business, Health and Education in both public and private sectors of the community. She uses a blend of different therapies including Positive Psychology, Neuropsychotherapy, Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy).
Schae is a Registered Psychologist who is passionate about supporting her clients to meet their full potential. Her therapeutic approach is empathic, compassionate and guiding. She works with her clients to build awareness and skills in addressing several mental health concerns. These include: depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem issues, adjustment difficulties, and perfectionism. Schae enjoys working with adolescent and adult clients, and has a special interest in women’s mental health.
Schae’s therapeutic approach is informed by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Strength Based, Solution Focused Therapy. She works to provide evidence-based therapy that is informed by her clients’ unique needs and goals.

Kelly is a Clinical Psychologist, having gained her undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications at The University of Adelaide and undertaken a period of supervised practice to further her skills. She is registered to practice psychology under the Psychology Board of Australia, is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is a registered Medicare provider.
Kelly works with a range of child, adolescent, and adult populations, with experience in Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as general mental health, including depression, anxiety, substance use, and trauma. While she primarily utilises Cognitive Behavioural and Cognitive Processing approaches, she is passionate about providing person-centred therapy which is tailored to client needs. Kelly engages with clients in a compassionate manner to identify their personal goals and enjoys providing clients with guidance and strategies that they can use in their everyday life.
Rina has over 20 years of experience as a psychologist. She enjoys working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, helping them to live with more purpose, vitality and joy.
Her approach is warm and action-oriented, and she uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Special interests include grief and loss; life-coaching; stress management; developing healthier habits (for example drinking less, eating intuitively, moving more); perinatal psychology; and the psychology of midlife and aging.
Rina completed a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology in South Africa, and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She is registered to practice psychology under the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a registered Medicare provider.
Janine has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, a Fellow of the College of Health Psychologists and an Associate Member of the College of Clinical Psychologists.
She has extensive experience supporting people with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, panic, perfectionism, sleep, trauma, health and wellness, depression, injury management, chronic pain and more. She has a particular interest in women’s health, both psychological and physical.
Janine’s approach is warm, positive and non-judgemental, utilising strategies of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Schema Therapy. She is passionate about working collaboratively to help people reach their goals and to achieve the outcomes that are meaningful to each person.
Katelyn is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Psychological science at the University of Adelaide. She would love to progress her studies further and complete honours and master’s in psychology, as she hopes to be a clinical psychologist one day. She has past and present experience in customer service and loves working within a team environment.

Natalia assists our team by working casually as a part of our reception and administration area. Natalia is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of Adelaide. She aims to progress through to completing her honours as well as master’s degree to achieve her goal of becoming a clinical psychologist potentially specialising in sports psychology. Natalia has previous experience in reception work as well as possessing strong customer services skills.

Julie completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology in South Africa. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Society's College of Clinical Psychologists. She is also a Board registered psychology supervisor. Julie brings extensive training, a rich life experience, and over 17 years experience working as a psychologist to her work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Julie has operated a private practice in South Africa where she also lectured under-graduate and post-graduate psychology students. She has also provided seminars to business managers and employees on topics such as substance abuse, change management and HIV/AIDS, as well as to cancer sufferers and their family members. Julie has also worked in various multi-disciplinary settings including community mental health clinics, a psychiatric hospital, and more recently, for a charity which provides services assisting disabled children and adolescents in South Australia.
Julie has extensive experience in, and enjoys working with, a wide variety of clients and presenting problems. She has an interest in the areas of chronic illness/disability, grief and loss, trauma, relationships and Family Therapy. She works from a Systemic perspective and uses interventions from a number of therapies (e.g. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy) in treatment.
Abby is a Clinical Psychologist. She values providing a warm and empathetic approach to a range of presenting psychological difficulties, and works with clients to increase their understanding of themselves as a foundation for making adaptive changes in service of their values and personal goals.
With over 11 years’ experience in assisting youth and adults, Abby now works with adults particularly around areas of transition and adjustment, grief and trauma, anxiety and depression, and managing various mental health difficulties that impact functioning and valued living tasks. She also has experience assisting people with a broad range of emotional and interpersonal difficulties, substance difficulties and adjustment to personal experiences.
Abby works with people through face to face, or if appropriate, telehealth appointments. She’s studied in South Australia and Queensland and has worked in hospital and community mental health teams and private practice settings. She has pursued further training in areas of interest, including perinatal mental health and trauma.
Abby has a special interest in assisting parents adjusting to the transition to early parenthood, and with the varying challenges that can present during the perinatal period. Abby enjoys working with parents from the period of conception, up to when their child is 3 years of age. She recognises that pregnancy and early parenthood is a time of change for the whole family, and she enjoys supporting both mothers and fathers through the difficulties of this unique journey. This can include working with parents who are struggling with mental health difficulties, distress related to pregnancy and birth, adjusting and transitioning to the role of being parents, as well as those affected by pregnancy loss.
Abby has experience working with parents on difficulties related to attachment relationships, perinatal anxiety and depression, adjustment to parenthood, pre and postnatal distress, and grief regarding perinatal loss. She provides a safe and empathetic environment in which to assist parents to explore both what is working well, as well as the challenges during this unique journey, and assists with the development of coping skills and strategies to address presenting difficulties. She aims to work collaboratively with parents to navigate the unique stressors of the perinatal period, and to explore ways of achieving a connected, attuned, secure and loving bond with their babies and young children.
Abby works with perinatal clients from an attachment-based therapy framework, and tailors an intervention plan based on the unique presenting needs. She often draws elements from cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, mindfulness based and trauma informed therapy approaches in treatment planning. Parents are welcome to bring their baby to appointments.
Abby has completed a Bachelor of Psychology at UniSA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and a Master of Psychology (Clinical) at Bond University on the Gold Coast. She has a Clinical Psychology endorsement with AHPRA.
Trisha completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Australia in 1999 having also studied at Flinders University of South Australia and The University of Adelaide. She is registered as a psychologist with clinical endorsement with the Psychology board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society Clinical College. She is a clinical psychology provider with Medicare. She has undergone additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing and emotionally intelligent parenting.
Trisha is a clinical psychologist with over 18 years’ experience within the Commonwealth Public Service providing assessment and short term intervention for clients from a broad range of backgrounds facing life changes including unemployment, permanent disability, transition to work, withdrawal from work force as well as significant barriers in their life including social, legal, learning, substance issues, physical health concerns and/or psychiatric difficulties in need of general life direction. She also has extensive experience assessing and identifying learning and intellectual issues in both children and adults, having conducted several assessments in private, school and government settings. She has provided professional clinical psychology opinion regarding diagnosis, treatment and prognosis for a range of psychological conditions. She always strives to be the best she can be, having been awarded for outstanding achievement during her study and has a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Trisha is open, non-judgmental, and focused on developing a trusting and comfortable therapeutic relationship with her clients. She likes to share in psychoeducation, believing that knowledge and understanding on one’s current difficulties, symptoms and barriers provides a foundation for change and is a first step in striving to a life closer to one’s values. She is very outcome focused and draws on various therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness and schema therapy to provide skill-based interventions. Trisha ensures that clients can develop their own skills to utilize in between sessions and apply to life, however is also very adaptable, compassionate and flexible and will go at a pace appropriate for each client.
Ashleigh is a clinical psychologist who has experience working in rural and remote, regional, and metropolitan settings. Ashleigh completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Master of Psychology (Clinical) at James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland. Ashleigh is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Ashleigh has an interest and passion for supporting children, adolescents, and adults to overcome challenges and to live a more rewarding and fulfilling life. Ashleigh is passionate about supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, school and workplace stress and burnout, perfectionism, adjustment to life changes, anger and aggression, substance abuse, self-harm and suicidal behavior, relationship difficulties, and trauma.

Peter is a warm and engaging therapist who works collaboratively with his clients to help them achieve positive mental health and attain personal goals. He was awarded an Honours Degree in Psychology by The University of Adelaide and completed a Doctorate at The University of Western Australia. He has been a Registered Psychologist for over twenty years and formerly held the position of Senior Psychologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Peter provides individual, couples and family therapy to adults and adolescents aged 12 and over. His psychological therapy is solution focused, evidence-based and supported by extensive experience.
Employing a positive psychology perspective, the overarching aim of Peter’s therapeutic approach is to assist individuals, couples and families towards more fulfilling, rewarding and satisfying lives. Working in collaboration with clients, he creates practical and actionable solutions that foster success in life, relationships and personal endeavours. Tegan is a Registered Psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents and adult clients. She provides a warm, engaging and supportive approach to therapy and values working collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals. Tegan has experience treating a wide range of mental health issues including: depression, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, adjustment, stress and obsessive –compulsive disorder. She also has particular experience with supporting individuals and loved ones who have been impacted by a medical condition or are managing chronic health issues.

Tegan primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT,) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing. She also values providing psycho-education about mental health and the mind-body connection to further support therapy. She is also happy to tailor the therapeutic approach to suit individual client needs.
Brianna is a down-to-earth, considerate practitioner who values supporting people to navigate difficult personal circumstances, build self-awareness, develop helpful coping strategies for uncomfortable emotions/thoughts, and move toward improved quality of life. She prioritises using the therapeutic relationship to help people build the confidence for desired change.
Brianna has experience working with a range of presentations including depression, specific phobias, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, excessive worry, stress, adjustment to life transitions, managing chronic pain, and sleep issues. Brianna is also trained to provide pre-surgical psychological screenings for people undergoing particular procedures including neurostimulation/spinal cord stimulator surgery.
Depending on people’s needs and preferences, Brianna’s therapeutic approach is informed by Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
Brianna is currently undertaking the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program to further her knowledge and skills in clinical psychology practice.
